We’re a bit late in bringing you this news, but at the recent Midwest Chapter meeting of MGAWA the Chapman Valley Historical Society reps told us about the Award they’d received from their Shire. We love to hear good news stories and couldn’t help but ask them to share the news with us. Here it is! MGAWA Peel Chapter Meeting     The MGAWA Peel Chapter Meeting was hosted by the Murray Districts Historical Society at Old Blythewood, Pinjarra,  Saturday 10th March. After the official meeting, Vince Taylor spoke on the subject ‘Letters to the Editor’, Vince has researched the colonial newspapers of the 19th Century and discovered some fascinating correspondence from residents of the Murray District and relevant correspondents. Wheatlands Chapter AGM and Workshop Toodyay Memorial Hall, 117 Stirling Terrace, and Newcastle Gaol Museum, 14 Clinton Street, Toodyay Saturday 24th June 2017   Register at at 9:30am and join us for morning tea and the Wheatlands Chapter AGM.  Afterward find spare time to explore Toodyay’s historic main street with its many specialty shops, as well as the two museum sites – Connor’s Mill and the Newcastle Gaol Museum.
